Following on from the success of a recent screening in Cape Town, the Bowling Club has announced plans for bringing Eat My Video (EMV) to Johannesburg.

EMV features a selection of quality international music videos that are screened in a cinematic environment. EMV originated in Belgium and currently operates from London. The organisation’s aim is to screen high-quality music videos by new up-and-coming directors, as well as some of the hottest new bands on the international circuit.

EMV Founder Gerrie Smits says: “Our aim with these events is to introduce people to the music and videos you don’t often see on mainstream television, in an environment where you can truly appreciate the work. A big part of our being in South Africa is to foster a cultural exchange through our direct relationship with international directors.”

The screenings are the result of a collaboration between Eat My Video (Belgium) and the Bowling Club (South Africa) - a new initiative devoted to local and international cultural exchange.

The date and venue for the Johannesburg screenings are as yet to be confirmed.
