MAPPP Seta in partnership with Consulting Dynamix has announced the New Venture Creation Skills Programme which is aimed at equipping learners who have been working in film, television and video production with small business management skills.

Learners will attend a series of theoretical training sessions followed by an intense practical implementation of this learning. According to Thando Makapela from Consulting Dynamix, “the goal is to ensure that determined media players are sufficiently skilled to attain financial stability and sustainability in the long term.”

At the end of the course learners will have covered unit standards aimed at, amongst others, fostering an enhanced understanding of starting up and managing a new venture and creating a thorough business plan, whilst workshops in script, camera, lights, sound, production and editing will focus on the development of relevant media skills.

Eligible candidates with experience in elementary film making and previous work experience in the areas of producing, camera, editing, directing, script writing and development, community radio and TV are invited to apply. All shortlisted candidates must be in possession of some form of evidence that demonstrates a drive and passion for a career in the industry.

This programme is for Gauteng-based learners. Preference will also be given to learners outside Gauteng, however all travel and accommodation expenses are for the learner’s own account.

Applicants can e-mail their CV’s to or fax to 011 804 1035 (subject clearly marked: NVC Application).

The course duration is 4 months and 15 learners will be recruited.
