Christmas, for many of us, is a time of joy, peace and giving.  It's a time for children to enjoy the wonder of love, laughter and receiving gifts, no matter how small, from those that love them.

12days of xmas
Sadly, for thousands of orphans it is a time of gloom.  The Gauteng Film Commission is this year involved in two main initiatives aimed at bringing a ray of sunshine into the lives of some of Gauteng's orphans.

The one, in partnership with Kaya FM, involves hundreds of kids at 12 orphanages watching movies and receiving Christmas presents, with content supplied by Anamazing Workshop and Ster Kinekor.

The second takes place this Friday, 5 December and involves a fun-filled day at Nasrec Expo Centre, with various stakeholders and partners pledging their time to come along and  spread joy to those who have so little happiness. It's hoped we can give children from four orphanages (Takalani Home, God Children Home, Amakhaya YFC and Thulani Home), a day to remember, filled with joy, entertainment, including pony rides, face painting, traditional dancing, music, and the magic of film.
