South Africa's premier awards event for the commercials and creative industry is almost upon us. At the end of this month, it's the Loerie Awards Festival weekend, from Friday 25 July until Monday 28 July, with the creative industry's who's who gathering in Margate for the 30th anniversary of the awards.

Whether you've got entries in or you're looking to be inspired by the awesome work and entertaining ceremony; or would simply like to rub shoulders with the industry hot shots, it's simply the only place to be.

The GFC, demonstrating its commitment to and support of the local creative industry, is this year sponsoring the TV & Cinema Crafts Category.

As Terry Tselane, CEO of the GFC, says: "It's a showcase of creative talent in South Africa, where creative innovation and fresh thinking is recognised. We believe in the talent of our local industry, which is why we continue to support the Loerie Awards through active sponsorship."

The Loerie Awards were first held in 1978, as a mechanism to support and grow television advertising. Since then the awards have expanded to encompass every area of brand communication including radio and print advertising, design, architecture, direct marketing, non-broadcast video, live events, and digital media. The awards are now regionally focussed on Africa and the Middle East, and entries from outside of this region are not eligible.

This is judging week, taking place at the Vega Campus in Johannesburg  so, soon you'll know if you're among the finalists and have an opportunity to be a Grand Prix winner at the Gala Event in Margate.
