Avmark take hotel group into HD era
In the third of these articles, we speak to Renato Acquisto, Managing Member of Avmark Systems, an authorised Panasonic Broadcast and AV Systems distributor based in Johannesburg.

In Focus: Please give us a run down on the type of equipment you supply.
Acquisto: We supply a variety of television equipment including Panasonic, Anton Bauer, Philips Pro-DVD/In SYNC synchronisation units, Extron switchers and others. We are an authorised Panasonic distributor.

In Focus: So what effect is 2010 having on your business and what contracts have you obtained thus far?
Acquisto: As a result of some pro-active marketing, we signed a deal with Southern Sun Hotels to supply them with all their HD television needs for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In Focus: Please tell us exactly what you have supplied.
We have supplied a mix of Panasonic Viera 32"LCD screens and 42" Viera Plasma Displays.

In Focus: And the installation - will you also be handling this?
Acquisto: Installation has already commenced.

In Focus: Name some of the hotels which will be re-equipped.
Sandton Towers, Palazzo, Montecasino in Johannesburg and the Cullinan and the Waterfront in Cape Town

In Focus: What is the estimated value of this equipment?
Acquisto: It is in the region of R8 000 000.
