on its roster. It has the ability to consistently harness a director's vision into work that is diverse in style and coupled with production excellence.

In early September, Terraplane were busy at a house in Parkview, Johannesburg shooting an Ultra Mel Grr 15 second and an Ultra Mel It's mine 30 second commercial, due for air during October.

Line Producer Gareth Hansen spoke about the commercial and the location.

"The commercials depict a battle of wills over the last Ultramel box in the cupboard. We shot the commercials on Super 16mm film and the post production was at Left Post Productions.  We had a crew complement of 60 and the lights etc came from MCC in Johannesburg. The Director and Director of Photography were Venessa La Trobe and Dan Roberts respectively.

"We received help from Gauteng Film Commission but find the JMPD an obstruction to shooting in Johannesburg.

In my opinion, Johannesburg has a lot to offer but unfortunately there is red tape involved.  I would suggest a special unit be established by the Joburg municipality to deal specifically with the film industry."
