Inserts relating to South Africa's readiness for the World Cup 2010 were shot recently for Televisa, a Mexican television channel, in various locations around Gauteng and neighbouring provinces. Locations used in Gauteng included Soccer City and the Telemedia studios in Rivonia.

MmaTshwane Antoinette Mokgohloa, assistant producer for Eurovision/ Telemedia shared their experience with In Focus: "We started filming on June 2009, at Soccer City. We then moved on to do some shots at the Telemedia studios on the corner of Wessels Rd and 9th Avenue and finally went to the Royal Bafokeng stadium and the Free State stadium in North West and Free State. The shoot was for Mexican television with two well-known Mexican presenters Marilos Gonzalez and Mauricio.

The crew consisted of three technicians from Telemedia, two Eurovision members and three crew from Mexico. All the equipment was supplied by Telemedia".

This production is somewhat unusual in that it will be a live crossing to Televisa in Mexico from the Telemedia facilities. Telemedia are renowned for their supply of microwave and satellite link ups both nationally and internationally, and also the provision of various items of broadcast equipment and a live studio.

"It was a good shoot and the locations were perfect concludes Mokgohloa. We received a lot of help from the Gauteng Film Commission".
