Tri-Continental Film Festival

The Tri-Continental Film Festival, South Africa’s only dedicated human rights film event, attracts a large and diverse audience of film lovers, activists and socially conscious folk from all walks of life and social strata.

Film that promotes democratisation, deepens understanding, and gives a substantive voice to the marginalised is more vital than ever in a rapidly transforming world.

TCFF has played a significant role in creating a sustainable and continually growing audience for social justice cinema over the past nine years, through film selection that is nuanced, relevant, informative and well-balanced.

Organisers will continue this tradition in 2011 with a programme that reflects global currents of change and action. TCFF 2011 will take place between 9 and 25 September 2011 in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria.

TCFF has extended its submissions deadline for African film entry to 31 May 2011. If you would like to submit a film for consideration please visit the festival website for application forms and delivery requirements.

People to People

Associated with the TCFF, the People to People International Documentary Conference will be held from 12 to 14 September in Johannesburg.

In the space of a few years P2P has earned a solid reputation for lively debate, community building and all-round good fun. This year’s event promises to be no different with a dynamic programme dedicated to the art, business and technology of documentary jam-packed into three days.

The 2011 line-up will offer master-classes, screening and conversation sessions, panel discussions and debates and networking and social events not to be missed. We’re also excited to present the first ever Good Pitch² as well as an extraordinary line-up of speakers from the local, continental and international documentary community.

The deadline for the Good Pitch² extended, and entries will now be accepted until 5pm on 31 May 2011. If you’d like to be part of a unique funding and networking forum like no other visit the People to People website for details.
