This week the Gauteng Film Commission (GFC) conveyed its congratulations to the short film “Berea” s Director Vincent Moloi, Producer Makgano Mamabolo and their casting team for being nominated at Toronto International Film Festival 2013.

The Toronto Film Festival yesterday announced the contemporary World cinema lineup featuring best cinema around the globe. The programme presents the latest works from film makers around the world .Contemporary World cinema features premiers from countries including Brazil,Bosnia- Herzegovina,Israel,France,Slovenia,Venezuela,Tunisia,Qata,South Africa ,Romania,Mexico.Dominican republic,Peru,Finland,Sweden,Kenya,the Czech Republican; Slovania, South Korea,Denmark,Syria, Lebanon; India,Ireland,Iran,Japan,Puerto Rico,Palestine,Norway, the United Arab imerate,Italy and Switzerland.

Berea is a 15mins short film short in Johannesburg Berea and supported by the Gauteng Film Commission.The short Film received its first debut at the Durban International Film Festival 2013 in July this year.

Commending the Director, Producers and the casting team of Berea, the GFC Acting CEO Ms.Phindile Mbajwa noted that “short films have played a significant role in the advancement of film in South Africa and globally over the past decade. We congratulate the team and look forward to a continuing partnership as we build Gauteng as a location of choice and South Africa’s film industry”.
