Known both for its soundtrack and its guest artists who lend their talents to individual episodes, Phineas And Ferb now has a South African in its line-up.

He joins other celebrity guests such as David Beckham, Ben Stiller, Michael J Fox, Selena Gomez and Slash, all of whom have voiced characters over the years. The TV series, which is broadcast locally on Disney XD (DStv channel 304), is a hit with children and adults alike, and has attracted more than 289 million viewers worldwide.

His episode premieres on DStv at 9.45am on Saturday, 16 March. Cliff says: "I really enjoy Phineas And Ferb, so I am thrilled to be part of such an iconic series. Doing a voice-over cameo is a first for me, so I jumped at the challenge. It's a show that both adults and kids of all ages can enjoy together and I can't wait for everyone to see my episode."

In the episode, called Tri-State Treasure: Boot of Secrets, brothers Phineas and Ferb are on a journey to help their father unearth a missing piece of Danville history. Cliff voices an antiques dealer who has a Ducky MoMo in his possession, which their sister Candace (voiced by Ashley Tisdale) tries to buy.

"Dan Povenmire and I shared our love of comedy when we were creating Phineas And Ferb; it was one of the things that bonded us creatively. We were thrilled to be able to add the talented and very funny Gareth Cliff, who is loved by kids and adults across South Africa, to that list. A big thanks to Gareth and all the folks who helped make it happen," says the series creator and executive producer Jeff "Swampy" Marsh.

Now in its third season, the series has gone from strength to strength since premiering in October 2007. Phineas And Ferb is the number one rated show on Disney XD and the top animated series on Disney Channel (DStv channel 303) with children.
