The National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (Nemisa) and the Gauteng Film Commission (GFC) are on the look-out for story ideas to develop into a ground-breaking 2D animated series - 12 episodes of 30 seconds each - for online and mobile audiences.

The target market is people aged 16-35 who have access to YouTube and regularly download and stream content on their phones. The story, or story idea, must appeal to this audience, and be structured in a way that constantly bring viewers back for more.

Ideas can only be in 2D animation only, and should not include any live action or 3D animation.

Submissions must include:

  • 1 x two-page step outline/ proposal
  • 1 x completed script for all 12 episodes
  • At least 4 x characters design (model sheets)
  • 1 x background interior setting
