bigfishBig Fish is an award winning film school that gives historically disadvantaged individuals access to accelerated, intensive training in the Film and Television industry as well as designing commissioned courses for broadcasters and corporates.

Required minimum abilities:

  • Masters degree and exceptional Film & TV industry experience.
  • At least eight years Film and TV experience at a production level.
  • Knowledge of the Skills development Act, SAQA and SETA processes or a keenness to learn.
  • Excellent managerial and organizational skills required.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving, innovative thinking and understanding of urgency are important requirements.

The position is responsible for the quality control, implementation and management of training at entry, intermediate and advanced levels; dealing with students including discipline and problem solving; communication with existing and potential clients/funders. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Effective identification, development and implementation of processes to ensure success of contracts and business plans. Manage staff
  • Course development
  • Oversee administration and compliance with accreditation institutions
  • Identifying tutors; writing reports; evaluating courses.
  • Overseeing productions; developing students’ capacity with a team to assist you.
  • Ability to work with participants at different levels from a wide array of backgrounds.
