Notice is hereby given of the following vacant position available at the Gauteng Film Commission:

Officer: Finance

The key responsibilities:

To provide the financial administrative services to the GFC in order to enable finance to achieve its objectives and for the Gauteng Film Commission to achieve its mandate.


1.1 Education:

  • Appropriate Degree/Diploma in Finance and or Post Graduate qualification

1.2 Experience

  • At least 2-5 year’s relevant experience
  • Knowledge of treasury regulations
  • An understanding of Government statutory processes would be an added advantage
  • A valid driver’s license

2. Duties

  • Assist with management of expenditure and revenue processes
  • Prepare various reconciliations e.g. Bank Recon, Credit card Recon, Vat Recon, Salary Recon and many more.
  • Review travel recons
  • Prepare Invoices for debtors  when needed and follow up
  • Prepare  creditors remit when needed
  • Prepare payments and load on system for approval
  • Submit purchase order to manager for approval
  • Receive petty cash, control, reconcile, review and arrange for approval
  • Provide support to Finance Manager and CFO for ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Arranging for transfers from budgeted accounts to other
  • Following governance procedures before making payments
  • Ensuring creditors are paid in time and in accordance with procedures.
  • Assist during Audits.
  • Prepare Budget Vs Actual Financial report.
  • Process Budget inputs on the accounting system.

The remuneration package is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
