naleliThe Gauteng Film Commission has partnered with Second Chances outreach program facilitated by Naleli M Holdings. A community outreach programme in the township of Cosmo City to give a group of vulnerable youth and reformed ex-offenders a voice to express themselves through storytelling using video production as a medium, providing a platform and opportunity for youth participation. The film screenings and workshops will take place in November and December 2018. Naleli M Holdings is establishing a distribution channel by screening locally produced content.  The initiative partners with various stakeholders to ensure the involvement of Youth, Women, Sports, Church forums.  The project presents an event-theme-based best South African films to contribute to Youth and Audience Development, Social Cohesion and Job Creation initiatives.

The outreach program promotes film and arts from selected venues, hosting regular film screenings and mentorship/training programmes to young people. Developing audiences by telling strong stories that people can identify with. Catering for the youth and the elderly. 

This project promotes transformation in the television and film industry by working with young Africans, women and people with disabilities.

africa rising tbThe Gauteng Film Commission is proud to partner with Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF), the event is scheduled to take place from the 26 – 29 November 2018.

moonThe Gauteng Film Commission partners with Movie Night Under the Moon (MNUM) hosted by Investong. This audience development initiative attracts the youth of Gauteng Province, providing an alternative distribution platform and outdoor lifestyle experience.

Promoting local content through Film, Art, Music, Fashion and Culinary. The event has attracted over 10 000+ with the past 5 events which took place across Gauteng and the Northern Cape Province in the past year, with attendees coming from a diverse South African audience.

The screenings will also give an opportunity to reach more audiences telling stories to the world and attracting international investments and future collaboration with South African Creatives. The event will take place on the 25 November 2018 at the Riversands incubation hub. The event seeks to create a culture of moviegoers, promote and support local Artists in various disciplines and sharing of suitable content to the right audience as well as promote social cohesion.
