Dlala Nathi is an in-depth three-month course which will take place remotely with the use of Zoom and other digital platforms to engage with disabled participants. The program is designed for individuals between the ages of 18 – 35.

Each week the participants will be introduced to an element of filmmaking which is presented by a facilitator and ends with a research task which will then be unpacked in the next class. The Zoom classes are 45 minutes – 1 hour each per week with extra learning material for the participants to engage with during the week.

Participants will also be required to keep a digital journal where they reflect on their journey during the program, all individuals will be encouraged to express themselves in any South African language while documenting their experience. The shooting of personal content will be done remotely as to adhere to the South African COVID19 restrictions. The learning points are not exclusive to filmmaking but integrate mental health, social skills, financial literacy, and reflection studies.
